• ABOUT MY PRACTICE •
MY STYLE:
Unlike traditional psychotherapy where the therapist acts like "a blank slate," I tend to be transparent and open about what I am thinking and feeling during the session. If you have been to a therapist in the past who was mostly silent and would not answer any questions about themselves and you always wondered what they were thinking, this will be a different experience. You are always welcome to ask me anything and I will tell you what I am thinking.
In sessions with me, we will work with your life experiences rather than simply talk about them. My goal is not simply for you to understand why you feel the way that you do but for you to create meaningful and lasting change.
I have been fascinated by how change happens for people - in that vein, I have pursued training in multiple different modalities. I rely on input from you about what is helpful and what does not work for you. This helps me tailor sessions to your individual needs. I check in regularly and create space for this feedback so that you get what you are looking for out of the session. Always feel free to let me know how you are feeling about our work together; I welcome the feedback.
AVAILABILITY:
At this time I am only offering virtual sessions over a HIPAA secure TeleHealth platform. This means I can see clients located anywhere in the state of New York.
FEES:
Please contact me to discuss my fees.
I do offer a sliding scale. This means that if my full fee is prohibitive, we can review your situation together and discuss options for a reduced fee. If I am not able to accommodate your needs, I can try to help you find a therapist who can.
INSURANCE:
I do not accept any insurance. If your policy covers out-of-network care, I am happy to provide the documentation necessary for reimbursement. I recommend checking with your health insurance provider to verify your coverage. I suggest asking the following questions regarding your coverage for mental health:
What is my deductible and has it been met?
What percentage of the fee is reimbursed for out-of-network providers?
Is there a limit to how many sessions my policy covers?
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
CANCELLATION POLICY:
I do have a 24-hour cancellation policy. I reserve your appointment time for you alone. If you are unable to keep your appointment for any reason, I require at least 24-hour advance notice or you will be charged for the full session.
